Mount Kilimanjaro Trek

My Story

In March 2026, I’ll be taking on the challenge of a lifetime: summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain and one of the Seven Continental Summits. This isn’t just a personal goal – I’m doing it to raise £7,000 for Railway Children, a charity very close to my heart and to that of my company, Advance TRS, who are proudly supporting me every step of the way.

Railway Children is a life-changing charity that works with some of the most vulnerable children in the world – those who find themselves alone, scared, and at risk on the streets, often arriving at railway stations in Tanzania, India, and the UK. Many of these children have fled poverty, abuse, or neglect. Railway Children steps in early, offering them safety, shelter, education, and long-term support to help them rebuild their lives. I will even have the opportunity to visit one of their projects in Mwanza, Tanzania, to see firsthand the direct impact your donations will make.

At Advance TRS, supporting Railway Children has been a core part of our charitable efforts for several years. The Advance Team have completed events such as - Ride Vietnam, The 3 Peak Challenge & Climbing Everest Base Camp in the past. Over the years, our company and staff have collectively raised over £100,000 for Railway Children through a range of fundraising events, corporate partnerships, and challenges.

Taking part in this Kilimanjaro trek is the latest chapter in our journey with Railway Children – and I’m honoured to represent Advance TRS in this mission. The support from my colleagues, leadership, and wider network has been incredible, and it shows how committed we are as a company to making a real difference.

This is no walk in the park – the Kilimanjaro trek spans seven days of trekking through changing terrains including rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and finally the icy summit of Uhuru Peak at 5,896m. The climb will test me physically and mentally, with overnight ascents, steep climbs, and high altitudes – but I’m determined to complete it!

To take part in this incredible challenge, I need to raise £7,000, all of which goes directly to support Railway Children’s vital work. Every donation will help rescue children from danger, give them the care they need, and help reunite them with safe and loving families.

If you’re able to contribute – no matter how big or small – please know that your support is not just helping me reach a summit; it’s helping vulnerable children find a future.
